Southern 24 Ton Brake Van "LSWR New Van" |
||||||||||||
PROTOTYPE. The London and South Western Railway between 1915 and 1921 built 75 of these vans. They were known to the staff as New Vans, a description still being applied to them in the 1950’s! These vans could still be seen on main line goods trains until the 1950’s, whilst a few lasted on local services and branch lines until about 1962. KIT. A well detailed kit of a very attractive prototype. The fit of all parts is very good. Because of the number of separate detail parts’ construction is not that quick, a very enjoyable weekend project. Straight brass wire and a pre-formed brass roof are included. |
